Fleetwood Town have teamed up with Puma for the next two-years and will begin by launching their brand new range in the club shop, which also includes a new home and away strip for next season

The deal brings to an end the five-year association with Nike, and Puma will now design The Cod Army’s new training wear and playing strips, as well as producing a new range of leisurewear for the fans to get their hands on.

Club Operations Manager David Holloway believes the clubs new link up with Puma is an exciting time for Fleetwood fans.

Holloway said: “There has been a lot going off the background with regards to this deal that we have signed with Puma for the next two years to be training wear and also playing kit maker. We have been with Nike now for about four or five seasons and have done a superb job for us but we more than excited about this move over to Puma.”

There was concerns amongst Fleetwood fans that the club would drop the white sleeves on the home kit for the new season, but as well as a new traditional new red and white home kit, Fleetwood will don a modern all black design on the road next season.

“There will be a new home and away strip. The home strip we have gone for the traditional red and white, so we still get the white sleeves in there for the traditionalists amongst our supporters. I know there were some concerns of that on the forums but that’s stays there.

“We have gone for a total new colour on the away strip. It is all black, black top, black shorts and black socks.

“We just wanted something modern, all the different designs we saw and we just thought something totally different so that is thinking behind it. We just wanted something modern.”

Including the new kits and leisurewear, Fleetwood fans will be able to purchase new tracksuits and as well as offering new mini home kits for Town’s newest fans for the first time.

“There are things totally new which the supporters haven’t been able to get before. They will be able to buy replica tracksuits, in the home kit, we will have mini kits so that is from newborns right all the way through which we have never had before so it is all exciting stuff.”

Fleetwood will launch their new material on July 1, but the kit, which is still in production, won’t be released until July 15 – just in time for fans to get their hands on the new look strip ahead of Nathan Pond’s testimonial match against Preston North End.

"If you visit the online retail shop: Highburystore.com everything will go on to there and we are looking at a launch date for the training wear to be the July 1 and hopefully we will have that on the website at the same time, maybe a couple of days later. The kits are in the final stages at the moment being made in Turkey so we are waiting for that to get to us and hopefully it will be here in time for Nathan Pond’s testimonial so we can get it on sale to the fans."
