Fleetwood Town manager Graham Alexander is looking forward to welcoming supporters to the open training session at Highbury on Tuesday, July 30.

The training, which is due to start at around 10.30am, will be the fans first chance to watch the squad and new signings being put through their paces.

Following the session, there will be a Question and Answer session with all the new signings and manager in Jim’s Sports Bar from 12pm, and Alexander believes the open-day is a fantastic idea.

“It’s a good thing when clubs organise these days because it creates a stronger bond between the supporters and the team,” he said.

“We’re looking forward to having the fans down to Highbury and they’ll see the sort of work we do behind the scenes from Monday to Friday, and then we can get to speak to them more personally to have a chat, answer their questions and generally get a good relationship going.

“There is already a good relationship between the team and the fans but we need to maintain it, and it takes an effort and responsibility from our side as well.”

There will also be an opportunity for the Cod Army to meet and have pictures with all the first-team players - and get signed autographs.

Jim’s bar will be open for snacks and refreshments throughout the day, with the event ending around 1.30pm.
