Uncompromising defender comes to Town
Fleetwood Town have secured an important summer signing with 25-year-old Ryan Cresswell moving north from fellow League 2 side Southend United.
Centre-back Cresswell was in the PFA League 2 team of the year last season and played a prominent role in Southend's road to Wembley in the Johnstone’s Paints Trophy.
Rotherham-born Cresswell brings a wealth of Football League experience to Highbury including facing Town home and away last term.
The tough defender said that this is the right stage of his career to take up a new challenge.
“This is a good move at the right time and the club is going in the right direction. It’s a great move for me. I’ll bring passion, aggression and I like to think of myself as a dominating centre half. I look forward to working hard with the club and delivering what is wanted – that’s promotion.”
Cresswell has signed a two-year deal at Highbury.
