Fleetwood Town’s away trip to Barnet has been called off due to the wintery conditions gripping the country.
It’s the second time the elements have claimed an npower League 2 away game following last month’s water-logged pitch at Oxford United.
Town coach Chris Lucketti “It’s disappointing after we’ve prepared for the game. We found ourselves in the middle of Birmingham and had the call saying the game had been called off. There’s not much we can do apart from getting on with things. We are disappointed.”
Fleetwood had just finished an indoor training session when the call came from Underhill.
“Birmingham have been good to us and we used their training facilities. We had a good session indoors,” added the former Preston North End defender.
“A number of clubs will be in situations like this and we’ll just work on the training pitch instead. We will make use of the weekend and start looking ahead to next Saturday. Training will go ahead tomorrow (Saturday) and we will assess the situation from there.”
Oxford United travel to Highbury next Saturday (26th January) before the rearranged fixture takes place at the Kassam Stadium on Tuesday 12th February. The Barnet fixture is yet to be rescheduled.
