Fleetwood Town have boosted their off field team with two new signings to maximise the club’s commercial profile at Highbury. Martin Booker has joined the club as Head of Commercial and will oversee all club business relating to sponsorship, advertising, match day hospitality, marketing and events at Highbury. He joined the club from Evo-Stik Premier side AFC Fylde where he was General Manager. Martin has previous Football League experience at Stockport County where he was Commercial Manager after several years in the sport and leisure sector. “It’s a fantastic opportunity to join Fleetwood Town at an exciting time with the club maintaining their progress in the Football League and continuing to enhance the club’s profile. The facilities at Highbury are second to none at this level and above and it’s up to us to maximise the club’s potential commercially with the supporters of the club and the local business community in this area and beyond” said Martin. Also joining the club is Sarah McLellan as Sales & Events Manager with her focus on building the events and function business in the state of the art Parkside Suite at Highbury. Sarah joins the club from the Evening Gazette where she was a valued member of the sales team with over 15 years experience dealing with local businesses in the Fylde. “I’m excited about the challenge ahead. We have some fabulous facilities that are available for the local community to use. It’s a superb venue for family celebrations, weddings and christenings and for businesses who want to utilise the Parkside Suite and executive boxes for business functions and meetings too.” Chief Executive Steve Curwood said: “Martin comes with an excellent reputation, and brings with him valuable commercial experience and knowledge of the industry, having spent most of his working life within football. I have no doubt he will maximize both the club’s commercial and banqueting operations given his background, and of course given the excellent facilities here at Highbury.” Both kicked off their time at Fleetwood for the festive clashes with Morecambe and York City both sell out affairs in Hospitality areas so it’s been a fantastic start to life at Highbury.
