The club were extremely disappointed by the actions of a small number of mindless individuals at the club's Boxing Day fixture at Morecambe, resulting in an injury to a steward.
Chief Executive Steve Curwood, who was in contact throughout Friday with Lancashire Constabulary, said the club are assisting the police with their investigation into the matter by helping identify those involved.
Curwood said 'We work tirelessly in attracting families and new supporters to the football club and it was superb to see well over 800 of them travel to Morecambe on Thursday.
“The club will not tolerate a small number of idiots trying to bring down the reputation of the club and damaging all the hard work which goes into growing our fan base and encouraging more supporters to travel to away fixtures. I have been in detailed contact with the police and will meet with them on Monday to assist further with their enquires. The club will ban any of those found to be involved.''
