Fleetwood Town’s announcement regarding dramatically reduced season ticket prices for 2013/14 is having the desired effect among the Cod Army as supporters new and old are snapping up the offer before the price rise in June.
One pleasing aspect for the club is that 36% of sales so far have come from new applicants.
Alan Turner, from Fleetwood, has renewed his adult ticket for the Memorial Stand:
“The club has excelled itself by offering a fantastic opportunity to watch League 2 football at such a great price.”
Diane Woodhouse, from Hambleton, is a family season ticket holder in the Highbury Stand with two children, Andrew (11) and Rebecca (13):
“The saving on both our season tickets plus the fact that under 16's can now watch free made the decision to renew an easy one. Any increase in price for any of us may have led to us not renewing all of our season tickets due to other demands on our income. The prices should encourage more families to attend.”
Nearly 70% of under 16 applicants are new so will have a season ticket in The Football League for the very first time. Two of these new season ticket holders attend Cardinal Allen Catholic High School in Fleetwood.
Morgan Cattle, age 15, says:
“I haven't been going to as many Football League games as I would like, but now, with these free season tickets, I will definitely be going to watch more games. Also, a lot of my friends will now be coming with me, which is even better! Thank you so much."
Gabi Aston, 14, says:
“I’m so happy with these season tickets! I haven't been going to as many games as I’ve wanted to but now even some of my friends have got a season ticket. It’s brilliant and means more games for me!”
Tickets are available online or at the club shop, at Highbury.
