The 30-year-old target man, who joined from Cardiff on a free transfer this summer, was on hand to net a hat trick in the 4-0 local Derby triumph over Morecambe at the weekend. It was the big strikers first hat trick in two years, the last when he helped Preston overcome Leeds United in an epic encounter at Elland Road, which finished 6-4 in 2010.

th in the table, and Parkin has played an influential part in the team that has now won three consecutive nPower League Two fixtures.
Jon Parkin said: “I have been waiting, to be fair I properly should have scored before today but it is nice to get off the mark, and a bit of a relief.”
“The gaffers has good players here, and if we perform to how we should we’ll score against anybody.”
“We have done well, we came here and competed and for most parts of the game we dominated the game, if they were still playing now they still might not have scored.”
Parkin will now be looking to add to his goal tally, as he goes in search of his first goal on home soil, but insists he isn’t worrying about his goals, and has his sights firmly on trying to pick up three points each week for Fleetwood Town.
He said: "To be honest I am not bothered (about getting his first home goal) as long as we keep getting three points, that’s all that matters.”
