All at Fleetwood Town were saddened to hear today of the death of our club chaplain Len Preston.

Len had carried out this voluntary role with the club for many years but he was better known in the town as a long serving schoolteacher at Fleetwood Grammar School and Larkholme High School.  He will also be remembered through his long association with the Fleetwood Fishermen’s Mission, where he held a variety of roles for over 50 years including mission superintendant and honorary chaplain. Len was a lifelong supporter of Fleetwood Town FC and he regularly attended home games right up to his death. He will be missed by us all. Chairman Andy Pilley said "This is very sad news indeed. Len was a great supporter of the club." Club manager Micky Mellon added "Len was a lovely, lovely man. This is really sad news" A minute’s silence will be observed at Saturday’s home game against Barnet in Len’s memory.
