Coach, Luca Lanzani, took advantage of the opportunity to pick up some tips:
‘It was a fantastic morning and an added bonus was being in the sun at last! There is always something to learn whatever level you watch and I can pick something up which I can transfer to my own session with the players on Friday night at Fleetwood YMCA. Our training sessions are improving in quality and the players are getting fitter. The more you train, the more you can achieve.’
‘Daniel, our goalkeeper, has been watching Scott (Davies) and Chris (Maxwell) close up and has been in awe of the players. Scott kindly donated him a pair of autographed gloves at the end!’
‘Karin Parkes, team manager, is delighted at the progress made since starting two years ago:
‘We began with 5 or 6 players and now have 25 training regularly. I’ve asked for a new trophy cabinet because the office is being over-run with trophies! We have currently got six in our hands and look forward to a four-day tour to Jersey in early October.’
The players have had a recent chance to cheer on their first team counterparts having attended the home game against Northampton Town, a late winner from Andy Mangan sending them home ecstatic!
