Alan Good all is looking to start against Wycombe today with Dean Howell remaining sidelined following an ankle injury at York City.

Alan Goodall completed the second half of the impressive York away win – and a performance which won deserved praise. Left-back Goodall is now looking for a fourth Town appearance of the season against Wycombe Wanderers this afternoon. “I’m delighted to take my chance. Dean has been playing really well but has taken a knock. It’s now my chance and hopefully cement a regular place. I’ve been on the other side of the fence and been injured and had to fight back for my place.  It happens in football. “ The 31-year-old played in the FA Cup First Round victory over Wycombe last year. “It was a tough game last season and I’d expect the same again today. They have a new caretaker manager who looks to have lifted the club.  We need to make sure we do our jobs properly all afternoon.” The former Rochdale defender has been patient  waiting to build on his 37 appearances last season. “Not playing is frustrating but when the time comes you must take that chance. It’s now all about me doing my job right on the pitch and contributing to the team effort. Hopefully that will keep the gaffer happy and I will stay involved. “ Wycombe matchday infoLink to admission pricesLink to Highbury mapLink to Jim’s Sports Bar
