Fleetwood Town have teamed up with two major publications to help spread the word about the football club and facilities both on and off the pitch.

The Gazette name has been added to Fleetwood Town’s first team shorts and the paper along with its sister publication, the Fleetwood Weekly News, will be heavily promoted in and around Highbury. In return, Fleetwood Town will be provided with advertising and competitions in both editions on a regular basis. This will help the club build up awareness of both football and facilities even further across the Fylde coast on a regular basis. Business development nanager Dave Riche said: “We are delighted to team up with The Gazette and the Fleetwood Weekly News and it is another well-established name for the club to be connected with. “We know that a lot of our fan base and facility users come from all across the Fylde coast and further afield and this will help us continue our expansion and show our all-round ambition to attract new people to Highbury.” Gazette Editor Jon Rhodes said: "The rise of Fleetwood Town Football Club from non-League minnows to the Football League has been something The Gazette and the Fleetwood Weekly News have proudly charted over the last few years. "What has happened at Highbury is nothing short of amazing for the town of Fleetwood, the borough of Wyre and the whole of the Fylde coast. "The Gazette and Weekly News are proud to be associated with the club and this season we have expanded our coverage both in-paper and online. "We wish Andy Pilley, Micky Mellon and the boys all the very best for the season - here's to the rise and rise of the Cod Army!" Fleetwood Town chairman Andy Pilley added:  “We are absolutely delighted to welcome the Gazette and Fleetwood Weekly News as a new sponsor.  The newspaper is incredibly important to us as a football club and I feel we can help them sell newspapers as well. They are the local paper dropping through people’s letter boxes and on sale at newsagents throughout the Fylde coast.  If that can reach Fleetwood Town into all parts of the Fylde then it’s good for us and good for the Gazette.”
