Gerard Kinsella is set to become Fleetwood Town’s eleventh signing of the summer following a successful trial period.
The former Everton youth player first featured for Town two weeks ago in the friendly at Stockport County.
The 21-year-old says building his fitness is key at the moment as Town enter the final week of preparations before their inaugural Football League campaign.
“I’m working as hard as I can with the fitness and trying to hopefully secure a place in the starting line-up.”
The centre midfielder has settled in at Highbury and also played on Saturday against Tranmere Rovers.
“I thought we did very well in the first half and our movement was very quick. We created some good opportunities. They started going more direct in the second half and they did create some problems. They were silly goals to give away with two set pieces and one, big ball down the middle.
“That’s something we need to work on.”
Kinsella will be looking for any issues to be resolved in time for the Capital One Cup visit of Nottingham Forest next Monday evening.
“Forest are going to be a very good side who move the ball quick. The gaffer will be looking at that in training this week.”
Tickets are now available for the Nottingham Forest game at Highbury on Monday 13
th August – KO 7.45pm.
