New signing David Ball, who has netted three goals in pre-season, is raring to go ahead of the Capital One Cup game against Nottingham Forest on Monday.

Ball was taken off as a precaution with an ankle injury against Tranmere last Saturday, after he had helped Town to a 2-0 lead. But after training this week, he is excited about the new season with Fleetwood. He said: “I managed to rest on Sunday and Monday, and then I’ve had Tuesday and Thursday this week in training and I’ve had a good session this morning (Thursday), so hopefully I can get through it as I’ve had it strapped up. It’s a little bit tender on the bone but all in all I’ve strapped it up and put a bit of cushion on it, so it should be ok for Monday’s game.” The ex- Peterborough striker admitted that he has enjoyed pre-season at his new club and can’t wait to get going. He continued: “This is probably the most excited I’ve been for the start of a season and I’ve really enjoyed the last two weeks since I’ve been here and everyone at the club have made me feel welcome and I really just want to enjoy the season and enjoy my football. “The fans that were there last week got behind us and it was a really enjoyable experience for me. It should be a great game on Monday, it’s a real big club were playing against and hopefully there’ll be a lot of fans there to watch the game and you never know, if we play the way we play we could give them a good game.” The ticket office is open Saturday 10am-1pm and Monday 9am until kick-off.
