Fleetwood Town's Development Squad were in Central League action at Poolfoot Farm on Tuesday afternoon, with the fixture against Walsall ending in a narrow 3-2 loss.
The visitors took the lead midway through the first half, but Town managed to level things up just before half-time as Max McMillan found the back of the net in the 44th minute. The young forward latched onto a loose ball and calmly slotted home to make the game 1-1 at the break.
With 20 minutes to go, Walsall got themselves back into the lead, with Town clawing their way back into the game just two minutes later through a Chiekh Thiam effort. Danny Edwards played a cross into the box, which was cleared only to the full-back who struck home.
It was heartbreak at the end of the game for the young Cods though as the Saddlers edged ahead with seconds to go in the game, meaning they would head back home with all three points.
Town XI: Donaghy (GK), Thiam, Trialist A, Bird (C), Hoyle, Baker, McMillan, Raffie, Trialist B, Edwards, Trialist C.
