Tony Greenwood

Manager

Already a legendary figure at Fleetwood Town and the `Cod Army’ regard Greenwood as the best boss outside the Conference set up. Having taken charge of a club in decline, Greenwood soon turned things around in dramatic fashion, leading Fleetwood to a third place finish in his first full season in charge, a placing which would have earned Town promotion had they not failed their ground grading, and promotion to the UniBond League Division One as North West Counties Division One champions in his second full campaign at the helm. Season number three saw Greenwood lead Town to a second successive promotion from UniBond League Division One. The UniBond League Cup final victory over Matlock in 2006/07 was Tony’s third piece of silverware in as many years. Greenwood was a player at Fleetwood in the Mickey Taylor era so his links with the club go back many years. The UniBond Premier Division title and promotion to the Blue Square North was added to Tony's list of honours in 2007/08.

Nigel Greenwood

Assistant Manager

A former Preston North End, Bury and Halifax Town striker of some distinction, Nigel is the quiet man of the management team. An innovative coach and a highly respected figure in the dressing room, Nigel is both a pivotal and popular figure within the club.

Danny Hurst

Goalkeeper

Mike Hale
Goalkeeper

Formerly with Burnley, Hale is regarded as an outstanding prospect and produced a man of the match display to help Fleetwood win the UniBond League Challenge Cup during 2006/07. Mike is an athletic last line of defence who shows maturity beyond his years in terms of positional sense and his organisational ability. Received the UniBond Premier league Macron 'Safe Hands' award in December 2007.

Phil Robinson

Centre Half, Right Back or Central Midfield

Phil is a quality performer who can fill a variety of positions. Made six first team appearances for Blackpool as a youngster and has developed into an accomplished player who leads by example and who refuses to be intimidated by anything thrown his way. In a physical league, Robinson is a key player.

Ricky Mercer

Centre Half

Ricky is a strong and aggressive player who signed for Fleetwood Town in December 2006 from Kendal Town. Ricky, who is 24 years of age, was Kendal's club captain. Having begun his career as a scholar with Preston North End, Mercer made his name with Lancaster City before leaving the Giant Axe to follow his ex-boss, Tony Hesketh, to Kendal. 

Nathan Pond

 Midfield

Nathan was one of Tony Greenwood’s first signings and has made almost 250 league and cup appearances for Town during a tenure now spanning six seasons. An imposing and physical midfielder with an eye for goal, Nathan is a superb athlete and possesses an excellent touch for a big man.

Jamie Milligan

Midfield

Not many players at this level can boast Premier League experience but, as a former Everton player, Jamie does indeed fall into this rare category. Milly also served Blackpool but dropped down into non-league football after a series of injuries. Jamie joined Fleetwood from Hyde United in 2006 and is a very talented playmaker. Skippered the side in the promotion push to the Blue Square North. Town's leading scorer last term.

Phil Denney

Centre Forward

A burly striker who joined Fleetwood from Mossley. Off the field, Phil is a physio but on the field he is a fearsome figure who doesn’t know the meaning of the phrase ‘lost cause’.  Not a prolific goal-scorer but a tremendous team player.

Andy Bell

Striker

Andy joined Fleetwood Town midway through the 2005/06 season from Hednesford Town and played a key role in the club's subsequently successful promotion challenges. The hard working forward was formerly on the books of Wycombe Wanderers and York City, Andy is the son of ex Blackburn Rovers and Wolves striker, Norman Bell.

Simon Garner
Striker

Simon is a versatile defender and moved to Stalybridge Celtic in June 2007. He previously played for Clitheroe, where he was club captain in the 2006/07 season.

Garner played a key role in play-off contending season 2007/08 for Stalybridge. He played in the Blue Square North final but Stalybridge were denied promotion after a 1–0 defeat by Barrow.

Steve Foster
Striker

The aggressive forward was snapped up by Town in the  summer of 2007 following his  departure from AFC Telford. Foster was also a target for Town when he departed Radcliffe Borough for Telford during season 2005/06 and adds yet more strength in depth to an already strong array of striking talent.

Kieran Walmsley
Right Sided Defence or Midfield

Versatile player who was previously with Morecambe.  Equally effective at full back or in midfield, Kieran’s experience and ability make him a vital squad member.

Warren Beattie
Midfield

A tenacious midfield player, Warren is a product of the Preston North End youth system where he rose to captain the Reserve side. Joined Fleetwood from Porthmadog FC.

Andy Moran
Striker

Wigan born Andy, having started his career on the books of Tranmere Rovers and Hereford United, was then taken to Bamber Bridge by the current Fleetwood manager, Tony Greenwood, He left Bamber Bridge shortly after Greenwood parted company with the club, moving to Rhyl where he has spent six seasons, scoring 99 goals in 147 appearances. Andy joined Fleetwood in January 2008.

Kevin Leadbetter
Midfield

Kevin, a tenacious midfield player, signed for Fleetwood on may 15th 2008. The 29 year old guided Skelmersdale United to the UniBond Division One play-off final last season. Prior to that he scored 14 goals for Burscough United in their UniBond Premier Division promotion-winning season of 2006/07 and also has Football Conference experience with Southport.

Farrell Kilbane
Central Defender

Farrell, aged 32, is a powerful central defender who began his career with Preston North End and Cambridge United before moving to Stafford Rangers and then, in 1999, Lancaster City. He played for Southport in the Conference North championship winning season of 2004/05 before making a move to Stalybridge Celtic. Joining Burscough at the start of the 2006/07 season, Farrell was voted the Supporters Player of the Year for 2006/07.

Adam Warlow
Striker

Adam, aged 21, was the UniBond League’s leading scorer in Season 2007/08, hitting 25 league goals for promotion rivals Witton Albion. Warlow signed for Witton in the summer of 2007 following a  season long loan from Crewe Alexandra during which he netted 31 times.

The club are delighted that a player of Warlow’s stature has chosen to join them for next season’s Blue Square North campaign.
