Burscough U18s 0 Fleetwood Town U18s 2:
October 31st 2007 29:300

Two cracking goals from Mike Booth on his team debut saw the U18s return from Monday's daunting trip to Burscough with three points and a bag full of confidence!

Match report here.....

Fleetwood Town 0 Witton Albion 0:
October 30th 2007 23:00

After a tight and fairly even first half, Witton, intent on showing the form that had netted twelve goals in their last two games, found Danny Hurst in fine form. His retirement through injury, however, saw Kieran Walmsley deputising in goal, but not having a shot to save, as the pattern of the first half was repeated. A fair result.

Report to follow.....

Ilkeston Town 3 Fleetwood Town 3:
October 28th 2007 07:00

Fleetwood just weren't in this game until well after the first hour. 3-1 down at half time, a vital opening goal from Milligan against the run of play, it needed a major on-pitch reshuffle to get us going. Excellent goals from Steve Foster and Ricky Mercer brought the scores level and set up a final ten minutes where either side could have pinched a winner. Good entertaining stuff though; for the neutrals!

Team: Danny Hurst, Michael Brown, Lee Peatfield, Martin Moran, Ricky Mercer, Guy Heffernan [Lennie Reid], Kieran Walmsley, Ciaran Donnelly [Richie Allen], Phil Denney, Alex Taylor [Steve Foster], Jamie Milligan

Simon Kelly Update:
October 24th 2007 15:00

Unfortunately, at the eleventh hour, the deal to bring Simon Kelly to Highbury has collapsed. Even though a fee had been agreed with Radcliffe Borough and personal terms had been agreed with Simon, there was an issue regarding Simon’s work commitments making it potentially difficult for him to guarantee his availability for every game. Both parties therefore agreed not to conclude the proposed deal on this basis. We would like to wish Simon all the best with his future career.

Simon Kelly to Sign for Fleetwood:
October 23rd 2007 22:00Simon_Kelly

Fleetwood Town have today agreed a four figure fee for the Radcliiffe Borough centre half and captain, Simon Kelly.  Simon is in his ninth season with the Radcliiffe, having graduated through the youth and reserve teams. He is highly regarded as a central defender, who can also occupy a midfield role, and his consistency has made him a great favourite with fans and playing colleagues alike. Simon will be in the squad for Ilkeston on Saturday.

Coach to Ilkeston:
October 23rd 2007 14:00

We regret that due to a lack of numbers, we are not able to run a supporter’s coach to our game at Ilkeston Town this coming Saturday, 27th October. Only 6 bookings have been taken to date.

As regards the running of supporters coaches generally, we remain committed to running one to all games but only if it is financially viable to do so. We are prepared to subsidise modest losses on occasions as we have done regularly in the past. We do believe there is a real demand from our supporters but everybody wishing to travel must book their seat and pay for it in advance to enable us to ascertain numbers as best we can and assess the viability of running a particular coach.

After Saturday, our next scheduled away game, at North Ferriby United, is not until Saturday 17th November. We do wish to run a coach to this game but it is vital that we have sufficient bookings by the Tuesday before (13th November) to do so. Tickets for this coach are available from the club shop at all homes games (and we have five home games before the North Ferriby game) or by phoning Gemma on 777607.

John Dobson:
October 17th 2007 21:30

All at Fleetwood Town are saddened to learn of the death this week of John Dobson. 'Dobbo' spent a lifetime involved with football in Fleetwood and served the club he loved as kit man for several years. The club honoured his hard work and devotion in 2002 when making John a Life Member.

Although John had suffered from ill health in recent years, his passing comes as a great shock to all at the club who knew him and we would like to express our sincere condolences to his family.

We will be observing a minute's silence in John's memory at Saturday's game against Worksop Town. The funeral service will take place at 11:30am on Monday October 22nd 2007 at St Peter's Church on Lord Street, Fleetwood followed by interment at Fleetwood Cemetery on Beach Road at 12:15pm. Re: The Barrow Game
October 14th 2007 10:30

The club have become aware that during yesterday's FA Cup tie at Barrow, both Nathan Pond and Lennie Reid were racially abused by one or more Barrow supporters throughout the game. Nathan, in particular, was so distraught that he felt it appropriate to confront who he considered to be the main perpetrator on the final whistle.

We will be communicating with Barrow Football Club at the earliest opportunity to establish the full facts but we wish to make clear once again, at this early stage, that Fleetwood Town Football Club abhor racism of any kind irrespective of whether our own players are the victims as on this occasion.

We hope that Barrow will assist us in identifying the individual or individuals concerned and that they will be dealt with accordingly.

Barrow AFC 2 Fleetwood Town 1:
October 14th 2007 07:30

In a game that will be remembered for all the wrong reasons, Fleetwood bowed out of the FA Cup as a ten man Barrow unsettled our first half confidence and composure. With Barrow leading 2 - 0, Jamie Milligan grabbed the goal that looked set to inspire a second half Town revival, but a well organised Barrow frustrated our attack and held on for the win.

On a happier note, the game saw a place on the bench for Lee Peatfield, signed on loan from Bury as cover for our injury depleted left flank.
