This
Is How It Should Be!
It's another beautiful day in Fleetwood and, with a bit of
a nip in the air, it's a perfect day for some football. Add a tasty local derby
and the Lancashire Cup and it's definitely 'Game On'. Kick off

So
We're Back on the Cup Trail:
After another aborted weekend we're back into cup action
tomorrow with the visit of Kendal Town in the United Co-operatives Challenge
Trophy.
Despite more 'weather' on Saturday, we are optimistic that
the tie will be played. Watch for an update
tomorrow.

Pitch
Inspection Needed at
Heavy weather over the last 48 hours has left the pitch
'under water' and in need of a good drying day today. There will be a
preliminary pitch inspection this evening and, if needed, the final one at
09:00 on Saturday morning.
Watch the forum for the
updates.

The pitch is under water this morning and so, with more
'weather' on the way, there is no possibility of having it playable for
tomorrow evening. The Lancashire League Cup tie is, therefore, postponed.

finally, it's game on:
The saga which began on December 5th will finally reach
it's last act tomorrow, Tuesday, when Fleetwood host Barrow in the Second Round
of the United Co-operatives Challenge Trophy; curtain up at 7:45pm.
Tony Greenwood has the full first team squad available for
selection, with the exception of a cup tied Ryan Moore, so you can expect him
to make some changes from the Saturday line up as he shapes the team for
Barrow.
I
only got one pre-match quote from Tony, 'Richard Allen will be involved'.

Fleetwood play out an unexciting draw in the rain....not!
Danny Hurst is red carded on his debut. Nathan Pond steps
into goal, but still sneaks up the field to claim the last minute equaliser.

Barrow away is now at home:
Following representations by Fleetwood Town FC
to the Lancashire FA, in relation to the unacceptable circumstances surrounding
the postponed UCCT cup tie with Barrow last Tuesday, the LFA have now confirmed
that the re-arranged game will be played at Fleetwood’s Highbury stadium on Tuesday
the 16th of January.
Last Tuesday’s scheduled match descended into farce
when both teams arrived for the game only to find that the match referee was
delayed by traffic. When the official finally arrived at the ground several
minutes after the appointed 7.45 kick off time, he postponed the game due to a
waterlogged pitch.
Since then, FTFC have made their position clear and
today the LFA confirmed in writing that this long delayed clash is to be
switched back to Highbury Stadium next
Tuesday.

Stop Barrow:
So we're all off to Barrow tomorrow to battle for the right
to play Kendal again, at Highbury, in the next round of the United
Co-operatives Challenge Trophy. Danny Hurst will be in the squad, but not Ryan
Moore, who is cup tied. Phil Robinson must also be doubtful following his
injury at Kendal.
Barrow
have reduced admission prices to £6; £3.50 for juniors and no-one is
forecasting weather problems!
