Allen
signs new deal
Fleetwood Town FC are delighted to
announce that they have agreed an extended deal with leading goal scorer
Richard Allen.
The
talented left winger / striker has signed a new contract which ties him to FTFC
until the end of 2008. The club also has an option to extend this deal for a
further 12 months once the initial agreement expires.
Richard
has been a revelation this season scoring 12 goals in as many appearances. This
follows a highly impressive debut campaign during 2005/2006 when Allen notched
15 league and cup goals in just 45 outings and was voted the supporters player
of the year.
Richard
signed his new deal yesterday during what proved to be a bitter sweet day for
the crowd favourite; the ink on his contract not yet dry before he limped off
with a worrying looking injury during Fleetwood's 3-1 Lancashire Cup triumph
versus Ramsbottom United.
Chairman
Andy Pilley expressed his delight at retaining the services for an extended
period of one of the most sought after young players in the Northern Premier
League. Pilley commented: "Richie is a unique talent and a genuine match
winner and I'm certain that the Fleetwood fans will be as equally delighted as
I am with this news."
Richie has a break to a small bone in his ankle after the game against
Ramsbottom and is expected to be out of action for 6-8 weeks. All connected
with the club wish him a speedy recovery.

sees Fleetwood Progress into next round

prolific striker Allen. Report.
