A few things you may not know about our new number 36

On Thursday morning, Fleetwood Town confirmed the loan signing of Canadian international Iain Hume from Preston North End. So what do you know about our new striker? Well here are ten facts you may not know about 'Humey'

1. Hume is a former team mate of current Cod Army boss Graham Alexander, and has represented Preston North End on 75 occasions, scoring 23 goals.

2. When playing for Barnsley against Sheffield United, Hume was involved in a serious injury with Blades captain Chris Morgan, as he fractured his skull, leaving him with an 18 inch scar on his head.

3. Despite being born in Edinburgh, Hume opted to play international football for Canada, making 39 appearances to date so far, scoring six goals.

4. Signed for Barnsley in June 2008 for a fee of £1.2million from Leicester City.

5. Town striker Jon Parkin starred with Hume in Preston’s extraordinary game against Leeds United at Elland Road in 2010, as the former netted a hatrick, while the Canadian also got on the scoresheet in a 6-4 victory for the Lilywhites.

6. Another exhilarating contest that Hume featured in was that of Brentford vs Doncaster at the end of the 2012/13 season. Donny earned promotion in dramatic style at Griffin Park, as James Coppinger scored in stoppage time after Brentford sensationally missed a penalty less than a minute earlier which would have sealed their place in the Championship.

7. When he does feature for the Cod Army, it will be the first time Hume has plied his trade in League Two.

8. On Hume’s last visit to Exeter’s St. James’ Park, he helped Preston North End to a vital away win with a brace, his 100th and 101st career goals.

9. Tranmere Rovers were the first side Hume played professionally for in England, and was a member of the team that knocked Everton out of the FA Cup at Goodison Park in 2001.

10. Hume will wear the number 36 shirt, the highest so far in his career.

Betting odds are available for this weekend's game at Exeter so what do you think will happen? An interesting bet is that Hume's former team mate at Deepdale, Jon Parkin, is priced at 9/1 to score a brace.
