Manager felt key decisions went against his side

Graham Alexander was left to rue key decisions this afternoon as his Fleetwood Town side fell to defeat at Preston North End.

Goals from Stephen Jordan and Josh Morris within the first six minutes had given Town the perfect start in what was the first ever league encounter between the two sides.

A second half Joe Garner hat-trick won the game for North End, though, but Alexander was once again frustrated at the final whistle.

He said: “In the first half we had an even playing field and showed just how good a team we are, but in the second half it wasn’t the case.

“I’m more than disappointed. We come to a big club away from home once again and you need an even playing field and it wasn’t in the second half.

“We can’t keep talking about it week in week out. At home it’s fine and we get the same treatment as everyone else, but away from home it's different. I don’t know why that is.

“We’re not getting what we deserve away from home at the moment. There’s some things we can control and there’s some things we can’t.

“We’ve got fantastic spirit within the Club though from the supporters and the players, and we’ll keep going.

“The fans were superb today and stuck by their team. They don’t deserve that result.”
