Alexander returns to the venue of his first win as a manager
Graham Alexander has stated that he's looking forward to the trip to stadium:mk tomorrow night as his side prepare to take on Karl Robinson's MK Dons.Victory over Doncaster Rovers at Highbury last Saturday afternoon has raised spirits in the camp, and Town head to Buckinghamshire full of confidence.
Goals from strikers Stephen Dobbie, Liam McAlinden and David Ball condemned Rovers to defeat and saw Fleetwood move to ninth in the table.
The Dons drew a blank away at Leyton Orient last weekend, but have enjoyed a fine start to the season and currently occupy a Play-Off place.
Speaking ahead of the game, Alexander said: “We’re under no illusions of who we’re playing. They’re a very high scoring team and have got a lot of attacking threats who have experience at this level.
“It’s important that we showcase our talents though, and replicate all the positive stuff that we did on Saturday against Doncaster Rovers.
“We are still striving to improve and become a recognised force at this level. It takes more than one or two wins to do that and you have to do it consistently over a nine month period.”
stadium:mk holds a special place in the heart of Town’s boss as he won his first game as caretaker manager of Preston North End there a few seasons ago.
“It was a Friday night in December down in Milton Keynes, and we won 1-0 and it was a superb feeling.
“I’d love to go down there tomorrow night and help our Club get a positive result.
“It’s a different Club, different players and a different scenario now, but we’re looking forward to the game against a side who have done ever so well at this level and are always up at the top end.
“That win a few years ago made my mind up about retiring and wanting to become a manager.
“I’d been playing until about two or three weeks before that game, and thoughts were going through my mind about what the future held.”
