Striker is set to make his third Town appearance
Striker Martin Paterson stated that the Fleetwood Town players must not show their opponents too much respect as they prepare to take on Swindon Town on Saturday afternoon.Paterson joined on a loan deal from Huddersfield Town until the start of January, and has started a couple of games for Town in recent weeks.
The Northern Ireland international played the full 90 minutes against Yeovil Town a fortnight ago, and was picked in the 11 last weekend for the visit of Walsall.
He said: “I’ve played both games so far. A good away win at Yeovil and unfortunately a poor result at home last weekend which we were disappointed about.
“This game against Swindon becomes a big game and an opportunity to go there and try and take some points.
“I’m getting there fitness wise. I think sharpness takes a while for a striker but I’m close, and was unlucky not to score at the weekend. I believe if I keep going then the goals will come.
“I’m not just a striker that stays in the middle and waits for chances. I work hard and have a lot more to my game than what people understand, but first and foremost and I have to start hitting the back of the net now and I know that.
“Dobs is a quality player and obviously to link up with him and get off his passes and clever play means only good can come from that.
“Swindon are a good team and their previous results prove that. You can’t give teams too much respect though, and we have to go there and believe in ourselves.”
“It is tight in the league at the moment and that can only be good. If we look at the positive side of it, we’re only four points off the play-offs and that’s the only thing we should look at.”
