Town's latest signing Alex Marrow made his debut for the club on Tuesday, after coming on for Jamie McGuire eight minutes from time.

"I was looking forward to hopefully getting on tonight [Tuesday], I got the last eight to ten minutes which was good," said Marrow. "It was a nice pitch and it's a good place to play football. I enjoyed it, it's just a shame about the result." Watching from the bench for the first 82 minutes, Marrow felt Town could easily have taken all three points. "I think we were unlucky," he said. "There's a lot of positives to take out of it, especially with the two chances; if the first one was an inch lower and had gone in I think we would have won the game comfortably. "With their goal I think it's just a slip from one of our lads. It just happens in football," he added, "so we've just got to go again on Saturday and I'm sure we'll pick up the three points." Micky Mellon's side travel to Burton Albion on Saturday, which could pose to be an even more difficult fixture following the Brewers' 6-2 home win over Wimbledon during the week, and Marrow is hoping to be involved: "I want to play as many games as I can here and hopefully get into a starting team come Saturday." On loan from Crystal Palace, Marrow also spent time at neighbours Preston North End last season, and as a result is familiar with members of the Town squad; his spell in the North West has also meant he is well aware of Town's achievements last season. "I think it's well documented, I've seen on the TV a lot," he said. "I was down south, obviously I'm not quite local to the area, and was looking forward to getting back up and playing my football." Despite the difference in leagues between Palace and Town, Marrow is impressed with the Highbury set-up, and is hoping to make an impact during his time at the club. "Obviously coming from the Championship, everyone thinks it's a step down into League Two, which it is," he said, "but I think I'm coming to one of the better teams in League Two who have got a great chance of going up. "From the training ground onwards I think everything is spot on, it's just like a Championship club. It's got all the facilities, the gaffer has got it all the same as a Championship club in the way it's run. I think it's only a matter of time before the club progresses through the leagues to where it wants to be." The club is running a supporters coach to Burton this Saturday. The cost is £15 with a 10am departure from the Parkside car park.
