Wolves striker pens loan deal until the end of the season

Fleetwood Town have completed the loan signing of Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Liam McAlinden until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old enjoyed a successful loan spell at Fleetwood earlier in the season, grabbing two goals in five appearances before being recalled by his parent club in late October.

Manager Graham Alexander admitted the Cod Army have been keeping a tab on McAlinden ever since he returned to Molineux.

“We are delighted to have signed Liam on loan until the end of the season,” said the boss. “We know Liam from his previous spell which was cut short when Wolves recalled him.

“We have been patient and we knew there was a possibility he could be available for loan and we have kept in contact with Wolves.

“Liam adds fantastic competition up front. He scored a couple of goals for us earlier this season but his general play, he is a little bit different from the other forwards we already have.

“He is a great lad to work with and he is very popular with the other players. It was a no brainer and we are delighted to have him back on board.”

Liam will be available for selection for this weekend’s home match against Oldham Athletic. To book tickets for the game, please call 01253 775080 or click here
