The Cod Army picked up another crucial three points in the League Two clash at Highbury Stadium, with Josh Morris’ superb second-half strike being enough to see off the relegation-threatened Chairboys.

But Town’s task was made harder when Alan Goodall was sent off after 13 minutes for an off-the-ball altercation.

And Jordan praised his side’s resilience in picking up the win, which keeps Fleetwood in the hunt for automatic promotion, and keeping a clean sheet.

“It was exactly what we needed,” said Jordan. 

“It was a bit of a strange one after Goodall got sent off, and there was a bit of a strange atmosphere for five or ten minutes, but the boys dug in well because it’s not going to be easy when you go down to ten men.

“We did really well, kept a clean sheet and got the win. 

“It’s always tougher when they’ve got an extra man, but the gaffer shouted to us to keep doing what we’re doing and keep our shape, which we did well. 

“We never really looked like conceding a goal.”

Morris’ goal after the break, which flew into the bottom-right corner from long range, was his second match-winning strike in four days - after he bagged the winner Fleetwood’s 2-1 victory at Cheltenham Town on Good Friday.

And defender Jordan, another left-footed player like Morris, said the on-loan Blackburn Rovers midfielder had a similar striking opportunity at the start of the game.

“(Morris) said to me at half-time that he had one like that in the first minute, and that he should have shot,” explained Jordan. 

“He said if it went to him again he would shoot. Luckily he did and he got us the win.”

Jordan, 32, made only his second appearance in two months for the Cod Army against Wycombe following a spell on the sidelines

The left-back was also part of the four-man defence which played against Cheltenham in Gloucestershire four days earlier, and he feels back to full fitness now.

“I felt pretty good. Half an hour into the game against Cheltenham my lungs were on fire but after that, and against Wycombe, I felt good,” added Jordan.
