Fleetwood sign Canadian international on loan until the end of the season

Fleetwood Town have completed the loan signing of striker Iain Hume from Preston North End until the end of the season.

The Canadian international joined up with his new team mates on Thursday morning and will be available for this weekend’s game at Exeter City.

Hume, who has also played for Leicester City and Barnsley, will wear the number 36 shirt during his time at Highbury.

Speaking about his new acquisition, manager Graham Alexander said: “We are coming into a very important part of the season and we only want to bring in players that will improve the squad and Iain certainly fits the bill.

“I know of his qualities from playing against him and with him first and foremost. I managed Iain for a month at Preston and I know him very well.

“I know what he is like as a character, he has a great personality and I know he is a very good player. They are the key points for me, we have a very good group here and they are all together.

“Players we bring in have to buy into that togetherness and Humey will certainly do that.

“He is a very experienced player and he has scored goals all the way through his career. It is not just his goal scoring credentials but it is the way he conducts himself on the pitch too.

“He is a constant menace for the opposition defence to deal with and he is a good team player. He is hungry for success and he is motivated”

Town are in action this weekend away at Exeter City, with Hume in contention to make his Cod Army debut. To book a place on our supporters coach please call 01253 775080 now with places still available.
