Wyre and Fylde school games organiser impressied with facility

Lee Cadwallader admits that Fuse Football has been a breath of fresh air since its opening three months ago.

Cadwallader is the Wyre and Fylde school games organiser and has used the facilities at Fuse Football a number of times already.

He praised the work that centre facilities manager Mick Horsfall is doing, and believes that Fuse will become one of the biggest attractions in the area.

He said: “I run all the competitions for the schools within Wyre, and we’ve always used the astroturf at Fuse Football when we can.

“Mick Horsfall has accommodated us as much as we’ve needed and given us lots of support. He has even supported the events himself.

“When the facility reaches it’s completion it will be very impressive.

“There’s nothing quite like this in our area. Having access to it and good partnerships with Fleetwood Town makes my life easier when scratching my head for facilities.

“I know now that I’ve got something to rely on in Fuse Football.

“Mick invited us down to look at the facilities and showed us the plans. I was impressed straight away and was keen to get things booked in.

“I’m looking to grow as much as Fuse is looking to grow and develop. Any kid using these facilties will inspire them to take part in sport.

“I’m already getting them round to take part in physical activity. Getting them into first class facilties certainly adds to their experiences and memories.

“I want to use Fuse as much as I can. We’re going to be holding trials in July and will look to use it as our home ground if you like.

‘It’s having that ability and option now to be able to pick up the phone and speak to Mick, and know that 99% of the time he’s going to say yes.”
