Illumathon to be held this coming Saturday

Fleetwood Town manager Graham Alexander and four first team players showed their support to Trinity Hospice.

Cod Army stars Nathan Pond, Steven Schumacher, Keith Southern and Stephen Crainey had their pictures taken wearing the Illumation t-shirts with the manager and two Trinity fundraisers to drum up support for the annual Illumathon.

This year the Illumathon will be held on Saturday 6th September and will start at 10.30pm. It will be a superhero theme, which means you can still walk in the dark under the illuminations dressed as your favourite superhero, but you don’t get home too late the next morning! Remember, this event is a ladies only walk!

As always Sainsbury’s on Red Bank road will be the meeting place at the earlier time of 9.30pm, but remember there is no parking available at Sainsbury’s, so please try to get dropped off.

New for this Illumathon is a hog roast at the end of the event, generously donated by an anonymous donor, to reward the hardworking walkers.

Speaking about the excellent work Trinity Hospice do, Fleetwood Town boss Alexander said: “It is a fantastic charity.

“We visited Brian House last Christmas and most of the charity’s funding is through donations. They are unfortunately not receiving the grants that they should do.

"It is such an emotional place when you go. The people that work for the charity are doing a fantastic job, they are great people.

"They need strongly supporting and we are more than happy to support the work that they do. We will always help and support the fantastic work that they do.”
