Fleetwood Town Football Club are delighted to confirm a pre-season friendly against Barclays Premier League side Liverpool FC at Highbury Stadium on Wednesday 13th July at 7pm.Jurgen Klopp will bring the Reds to the Fylde Coast for a game against the Cod Army before they embark on their pre-season tour in the USA where they will compete in the International Champions Cup.
It will be the first game of Town’s pre-season schedule this year, and manager Steven Pressley said it was a fixture they just couldn’t turn down.
Speaking to the Club’s website, he said: “Ideally in pre-season you want to build up slowly but we felt this was a terrific game for a Club like Fleetwood.
“It’ll give us an opportunity early on in pre-season to pit our wits against some of the best players in the world, so it’s a really prestigious game for us.
“The bottom line is that we’ll play two different elevens on the night because it’s our first pre-season game and we’ll be building the lads up slowly.
“For ourselves it will give the whole squad the opportunity to play against a massive club which should be a great incentive for them all really.”

Normal matchday prices will apply for this game, with members of the Fleetwood Town membership scheme receiving their normal discount.
Tickets for the game went on general sale at 9am on Tuesday 31st May 2016.
2015/2016 season ticket holders will have until Tuesday 14th June to reserve their existing seats.
