First team squad will be put through a double session

Fleetwood Town’s first team squad will train at Poolfoot Farm for the first time when they return to pre-season training on Wednesday.

The Club’s new £6million training ground which is based in Thornton means Graham Alexander’s men now have a home to call theirs.

Town’s players will return for a double session, and will use the back pitches while the elite pitches are still in their completion.

A number of familiar faces will return to training, with the likes of Stephen Jordan and Nathan Pond both signing contract extensions over the summer.

The Club will welcome new signings Declan McManus, Amari’i Bell and Jimmy Ryan to the fold, as preparations for the 2015/16 campaign will get underway.

Barry Nicholson’s development squad will also return to training on Wednesday, and there will be new faces amongst his ranks too having been active in the window during the summer.

Alexander will take his squad on a week’s pre-season tour to Germany later in July, while the development and youth squads will head to Austria for a fortnight.

The Cod Army will travel to face neighbours AFC Fylde in their first game of pre-season on Thursday 9th July (K.O 7.30pm). Ticket prices to be confirmed.
