Five schools take part in competition at Fuse Football

With England women’s football team having such a positive World Cup by reaching the semi-finals in Canada, the game’s popularity is expected to rise.

On Thursday, Fleetwood Town’s Community Trust ran a very successful FFD (Female Football Development) High Schools Girls Festival at Fuse Football to increase interest in the sport.

The Community Trust deliver football sessions to females aged 14-17 years of age from local schools, grass roots teams and community settings.

They do this throughout the year in conjunction with the Football League and the FA. The girls had a fantastic day and had the opportunity to showcase their skills in competitive matches.

The teams that competed on the day where Fleetwood High, Lytham St.Annes High, Baines High, Rossall School and Millfield High.

The main aim was for the girls to enjoy their experience playing for a team and to encourage them to continue to keep playing football.

The Community Trust would like to thank all the teams that took part. To contact the community department, please call 01253 775080.
