Town fans flocked to Jim's Bar to enjoy the celebrations

Fleetwood Town hosted their annual end of season awards at Jim’s Bar following Saturday afternoon’s game against Colchester United.

Winner of the supporters player of the season award was goalkeeper Chris Maxwell, who has performed admirably between the sticks.

The Welshman has kept 14 clean sheets during Town’s debut season in the third tier, and has become a key figure in Graham Alexander’s side.

There was nothing to choose between Maxwell and Stephen Jordan for the players player of the year award, as the pair shared the honour.

Young player of the season was named as Nick Haughton who has wowed fans at Highbury with some eye catching displays.

Since making his debut at home to Port Vale in October, Haughton has been one of the shining lights for the Cod Army.

Goal of the season was given to David Ball, who netted a stunner at home to Preston North End in front of the Sky cameras in March.

Ball picked the ball up some 25 yards from goal and beat a couple of challenges before lobbing keeper Sam Johnstone.

Supporter of the season was Docs Flwd, who along with other die hard fans, has followed Town up and down the country week in week out.

Louis Myers won the youth team’s player of the season award after an impressive campaign for Craig Madden’s side.

Neil Buston was named Clubman of the year while the Junior Cod Army player of the season went to stalwart Nathan Pond.

At the night, chairman Andy Pilley said: "11 months ago we won at Wembley and a lot of people tipped us to struggle this year.”

"The season has been hugely successful. We've picked up some great wins along the way.”
