Young striker has scored 99 goals in two seasons for Horley

Fleetwood Town have today completed their first signing of the summer after striker Ashley Nadesan put pen to paper on an undisclosed three year deal with the Club.

The young forward, who joins from Combined Counties Football League side Horley Town, has scored 99 goals for the Surrey based outfit during the last two seasons.

After his move, he said: “I’m buzzing to be here especially after all the recent speculation about my future. I’m so happy to be here and can’t wait to get going.

“I first heard about the interest from the Club a couple of months ago, and ever since then it’s just spiralled really. I had to accept the offer because Fleetwood are a quality team.

“The Club have recently opened up a new training facility which is amazing, and I can’t wait for the season to start so I can play football again.”

Nadesan’s impressive performances for Horley have caught the eye of a number of sides, but the striker was quick to heap praise on his former teammates.

“The past two seasons have been incredible for me. The manager at Horley played me where I wanted to and the team around me have all been quality.

“If it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t have scored 99 goals, and it was just a shame really that I didn’t score my 100th but I’ll save that for Fleetwood!

“It’s a striker’s dream to score goals so to score 99 of them in two seasons is just incredible. I also broke the league record a couple of weeks ago which was nice.

“A lot of people are calling me the new Jamie Vardy by comparing me to him, but I don’t want that pressure because I’d rather be the first Ashley Nadesan.”
