Edinburgh based group were at Highbury on Saturday afternoon

The McCod Army, the Edinburgh branch of Fleetwood Town supporters, were present at Saturday afternoon’s Fylde Coast derby against Blackpool.

Thirteen members of the ever expanding group travelled from Scotland over the weekend to take in the first ever Football League meeting between the two sides at Highbury Stadium.

The Scots have been Town supporters for several years, and have watched matches both home and away in recent seasons.

Michael Hansborough, the group’s co-ordinator, said: “Our visit on Saturday was another enjoyable experience as we are always made to feel very welcome at Highbury.

“We enjoyed the game and meeting up with members of the Cod Army. It is always nice to share a few beers with such a great group of people, many of whom have become friends of ours.

“We follow the fortunes of the team very closely and wish them well for the last couple of games. We are extremely confident that the side will stay up.

“Fleetwood Town have now become Edinburgh’s third team!”
