Youngster will team up with the development squad

Fleetwood Town can confirm the signing of 18-year-old defender Andre Streete who will team up with Barry Nicholson’s development squad.

Formerly of Wolverhampton Wanderers, Streete was not offered a professional contract at the end of his term as a scholar with the West Midlands club, and now hopes to impress for Town.

The left sided central defender has signed a 12 month contract with the Club after impressing during a recent trial stint with the Cod Army.

After completing his move to the Fylde Coast, development squad manager Nicholson stated he was pleased with the acquisition of Streete.

He said: “I’m delighted to sign Andre. He’d been on trial for a couple of weeks and did very well against Bolton.

“He’s a physical presence who will give us a lot of organisation and is a good talker. We’re really happy to have him on board.”

Nicholson’s side have been in impressive form as of late, winning their last three games against The Totters, Morecambe and Tranmere Rovers.
