Manager speaks ahead of this weekend's game against Doncaster Rovers

A return to winning ways is what Town manager Graham Alexander is hoping for on Saturday afternoon when his side take on Doncaster Rovers at Highbury.

Last weekend’s narrow reverse to Colchester United at the Weston Homes Community Stadium saw the Cod Army slip to 12th in League One.

However, backed with the raucous home support, and the fact that Town haven’t lost a home game in the league this season, Alexander is confident his can pick up three points.

The manager spoke exclusively to the Club’s official website at his press conference at the training ground this afternoon.

He said: “We’ve been relatively pleased with our form at home but we have to step up our game. Doncaster are a decent team with a lot of experience in their squad. It’ll be a tough match.

“We’re doing a lot of good things throughout the game at the moment, however we’re not taking the opportunities that we’re creating which doesn’t give us the basis to win games.

“We know where we have to improve and we’re working hard on doing so. Goals will change the perception of performances, but when we break it down in the cold light of day there are a lot of positives to take.

“There’s no short-term fixes in football. You have to constantly work on it week in week out, month in month out and season in season out.

“It’s the case of breaking it down into these specifics, and when we are creating chances, which we are, how can we do better to take them and that’s what we’re working on.

“Doncaster we’re obviously a Championship club last season and are a team who probably looking to get back up there.

“We know it’s going to be a tough task for us, but these are the games we strived last season to be part of. We’re looking forward to it.

“The atmosphere at Highbury this season has been superb and the players have really responded to that. We’ve shown as a Club what we can do when everyone is together.”
