Head coach speaks to media ahead of game at Highbury

Uwe Rosler has urged his players to ‘keep progressing’ as they enter the most important part of the season.

Fleetwood Town extended their unbeaten run to 13 matches with a 1-1 draw away at Charlton last weekend, with Amari’i Bell grabbing a stoppage time equaliser.

Rosler’s men will look to keep their run going as they welcome seventh place Rochdale to Highbury this Saturday.

“This is the longest run I’ve been on but for me it’s not the numbers, we need to keep focusing on the next game,” said Rosler.

“People try to find ways to stop us and there are a lot of managers in our league who are giving their players options and ways to stop us.

“We need to keep progressing and developing our style of play to give ourselves more options without losing what already works and that is sometimes a difficult balance.”

The German head coach told the press at Poolfoot Farm how much his players are relishing the challenge they are facing.

“When you see how much they are putting into each game to not get beaten, they are getting their rewards.

“We need to make sure now that we are not only making sure we don’t lose but we concentrate on winning games.

“Sometimes you have to take more chances to win and then the reward is higher in general and the run we are on is keeping the mentality high and the players are on high spirits.”

Fleetwood have only lost one game at home this season, and are unbeaten at Highbury since September.

“You know how good our home form has been this season and it is now more important to keep that up now we are in the later stages of the season.

“Keith (Hill) is a good manager and sets his teams up well so we will be hoping to improve on the way we played certainly in the first 20 minutes against Charlton.

“We have had a whole week’s good training and we need to do what we do but only better to get the result we want.”
