Head coach preview final game of the regular season

Head coach Uwe Rosler has called upon Fleetwood Town fans to ‘pack the stadium’ on Sunday for our final Sky Bet League One fixture against Port Vale.

A win for either side on Sunday could have implications at both ends of the table. Port Vale must better Gillingham’s result to avoid relegation, whilst a Town win combined with a Bolton defeat at home to Peterborough will see Rosler’s side promoted to the Championship.

Rosler insisted in his pre-match press conference that the fans have a key role to play at Highbury.

“They have been fantastic all season,” said Rosler.

“We just need them one last time this season to come down to Highbury and create the intimidating atmosphere.

“I am calling on all the fans to come and pack the stadium as their wonderful support can carry us over the line.”

Rosler also spoke about how he now has a near fully fit squad to choose from, with Jimmy Ryan back in full training.

“Jimmy is back on the grass training with us, but whether he makes it on Sunday, I’m unsure,” added Rosler.

“Devante is ready. He may not be able to play the full 95 minutes at such a high intensity just yet.

“He will have an important part to play, whether it be as a substitute or whether he starts the game.”

Just ten years ago Fleetwood were playing in the Unibond Premier Division, and now come 2pm on Sunday, they could be a Championship club.

“It would be a marvellous achievement.“The club has been doing really well in recent years and for me to be a part of this is amazing.

“Hopefully on Sunday I can repay the fan’s and the chairman’s faith in me by getting the win, we are ready.”
