Town's boss looks ahead to trip to Posh
Head coach Uwe Rosler says his Fleetwood Town side must be wary of Peterborough United’s ‘sense of freedom’ when they meet on Good Friday.
Rosler takes his Town side to the ABAX Stadium on Friday for the penultimate away match of the season, with his team still third in Sky Bet League One.
With Posh currently sitting 11th in the table – nine points outside the playoff positons – Rosler is aware of threats Grant McCann’s side possess.
“It is a big game which I am looking forward to,” said Rosler.
“This match will be like two boxers going head to head and we will hope to be the last man standing.”
“They are a good side who always play with a sense of freedom. They have threats all across the pitch and we have to be aware of that come Friday.”
In his pre-match press conference at Poolfoot Farm, Rosler was also keen to give an update on the club’s long injury list.
“Our injury list is a long one and we have a few first team players unavailable to us. Cian Bolger is not available for the Peterborough game,” added Rosler.
“We are hopeful that Devante Cole is closing in on a return for the club.
“We have players who have filled the gaps well though so there is strong competition for all places.”
It was also a special week for right-back Conor McLaughlin, who was named in the EFL team of the season at the EFL awards earlier in the week.
“I am very pleased for Conor.
“He has had a really good season and has been influential in the club’s season.
“The awards are always good but it is a team game and we work has as a team, the awards mean nothing if we don’t have anything to show at the end of the year.”
