Head coach offers thoughts after Saturday's result

Uwe Rosler says he couldn’t ‘fault the application’ of his players after Saturday’s battling draw at Bury.

Town recorded their sixth clean sheet in seven matches as they held an in-form Shakers side to a 0-0 draw at Gigg Lane.

Kyle Dempsey hit the post in the first half, and Town looked the better side in the latter stages but Rosler’s side had to settle for a point.

“I think both teams cancelled each other out,” said Rosler.

“The performance was not the best, but you can’t fault the application from my players.

“My team were digging deep on a difficult pitch that was heavy for both sides and I think in the first half especially both teams did not want to make mistakes and that went for the whole game.

Fleetwood have only lost once in their last 22 matches, a quite remarkable stat given the number of first team players are currently side-lined with injuries.

“What makes me optimistic is the players that are coming back,” added Rosler.

“Pondy was back on the bench today and he will play in a match on Tuesday. Hopefully more will be back and it makes me optimistic.

“As a human thing when you are so close to the end of the season, everyone looks at the table. And that is sometimes unhelpful.

“We just need to concentrate on how we know we can play and we will get to 74 points.

“It is why we are where we are, we have the right mentality and we have very good players. Now it is about not getting nervous, not watching the table and to just concentrate on the performance.

“Overall it is another point to our target.”
