Town's head coach previews Dons game at Highbury

Uwe Rosler has called on his Fleetwood side to make a fast start on Saturday against AFC Wimbledon at Highbury.

Town face an inform Wimbledon side who are fresh from a 2-0 win over MK Dons on Tuesday night, with Rosler wary of the momentum that could bring the Londoners.

However, the Cod Army chief knows how his team can play as they look to remain in the top two of Sky Bet League One.

“We will try to perform and hopefully that will be enough for all three points,” said Rosler.

“When you talk about AFC Wimbledon you know the certain characteristics with how they play. They will come here after a massive high – probably their biggest win of the season against MK Dons – so we have to be prepared that they may have momentum.

“We have to start the game alert and quick and be on the front foot and be creative where we can give ourselves chances to score.”

One of Wimbledon’s goal scorers on Tuesday night – Jake Reeves – is no stranger to the German after he gave him his debut whilst at Brentford.

“[Jake] Reeves came to Brentford and I gave him his debut and I had no hesitations in doing that,” said Rosler, on the 23 year-old midfielder.

“He was a very good trainer, very enthusiastic and he is showing all his qualities now in the AFC Wimbledon side – I think he is one of the key players in the side and I have followed his progress with close eyes. I think he is a player I admire.

“They are mid-table and already safe and looking upwards. Wimbledon are always a threat for the next years to come in getting into the play off positions.”
