Honorary Vice President chosen for #EFLStories campaign

Fleetwood Town's Honorary Vice President Ted Lowery will play a key role in today's first home league game of the season against Scunthorpe United, by leading out the two teams with the match ball.

To mark the start of the new football season, the English Football League (EFL) launched its #EFLStories campaign to tell the stories of all the people who help make the EFL what it is - a football experience for everyone.

Across the opening two weekends of the season, the first 72 people featured on the #EFLStories website will have the privilege of delivering their club’s new Mitre match ball to the pitch at the first home league game of the season, with #EFLStories ball presentations taking place across all three divisions of the Sky Bet EFL.

Ted, who has been with the Cod Army for an incredible 38 years, feels honoured to be the man to carry out the match ball.

"It’s got to be the best things that’s happened to me," said Ted.

"I’ve been with the club for 38 years, from down in the dumps to where we are now, and of course, I’ve been to Wembley twice.

"The first time being in the FA Vase in 1985 and I was there a couple of years ago when we beat Burton Albion.

"It’s one of the best days of your life, it’s got to be, it’s the new Wembley."
