George Glendon signs permanently from Manchester City

Midfielder signs a permanent deal after successful loan spell

Fleetwood Town are delighted to confirm the permanent signing of George Glendon from Manchester City for an undisclosed fee.

 

The 21-year-old, who has been on loan at Town since August, has penned an 18-month deal with the club having the option for an extra year.

 

Wythenshawe born, Glendon had been with the Premier League giants since the age of five and was a star of City’s Elite Development Squad last season, as well as captaining their under 21 side.

 

An energetic midfielder with a super range of passing, Glendon has impressed in his 16 matches for Town.

 

In his time with the Cod Army, Glendon has won the fans December Player of the Month after impressing for Uwe Rosler’s as they climbed into the Sky Bet League One play off positions. 


Head coach Uwe Rosler said on the move: “We are delighted to make that loan move permanent.


“There’s far more to come, there’s a lot of potential in him and that is our strategy, to sign players on loan, find out if they’re suiting us and we suit them, and going into partnership.


“I’m very, very happy and looking forward to working with Glenno."
