Cod Army skipper ready to face Lions...

Nathan Pond has stated that his side will be up for the battle ahead of his side’s trip to face Millwall in Sky Bet League.

The Cod Army skipper says he is relishing playing in the intimidating atmosphere at The Den as his side look to make it three league wins in a row.

“I quiet enjoy going there – even though you get a lot of abuse!” said Pond.

“We’ve come off a bit of a bad run but we got a draw at home to Sheffield United and back-to-back victories which we needed and got us up the table.

“It’s intimidating, but it’s you up against them and that’s the way I like it.”

As well as chasing a third straight win, Uwe Rosler’s side are also hunting a third straight clean sheets after shutouts against Peterborough and Chesterfield in the last week.

“Hopefully it can continue.

“We’ve had back-to-back clean sheets which isn’t easy in this league as you get put under a lot of pressure. We have a tough game on Saturday and another clean sheet will do us nicely.

“It was windy, rainy but the lads dug in well and it was a good battle and an away win against Chesterfield.”

Millwall are currently just outside the relegation places in Sky Bet League One, but Pond isn’t focusing too much on that going into the game.

“Millwall are below us in the table but they got to the play-off final last year and they’ve got some good players and lot of goals in them.

“Hopefully we can keep them quiet and quieten the crowd down.

“You can see with the back-to-back wins how you can go up the table. If we can go to Millwall and come back with at least a point and we’ll see where that leaves us.”
