Community Trust delivering traineeship programme
Fleetwood Town Community Trust are almost half way through delivering its first twelve week traineeship programme for 16-18 year olds in the town, in partnership with the English Football League Trust and B2B Engage.
Five trainees have been engaged in three days a week work experience and two days learning new skills to prepare for the world of work. An exciting addition to the programme has been the involvement of Colin Bell from Peak Performance Consultancy, who is a personal coach and motivation trainer. The young people have benefitted from one-to-one sessions and group physical activities that provide them with the opportunity to look at where they want to get to in life and the changes they can make in their thinking, attitude and behaviour.
Work experience opportunities have included coaching sessions at Poolfoot Farm Training Ground and at local primary schools; building and facilities management, catering and hospitality at Highbury Stadium, carpet fitting and Parks and Open Spaces with Wyre Borough Council.
During the final six weeks of the traineeship they will spend one day a week on personal development activities that challenge them to explore their physical and mental endurance and support the transition into adulthood and taking responsibility for their futures.
