Defender reacts after picking up another three points

Cian Bolger said his side were ‘comfortable’ in Saturday’s 1-0 win over MK Dons in Sky Bet League One.

Bolger’s second half header sealed all three points at stadium:mk and extended Fleetwood’s unbeaten run in the league to 16 matches.

The Irish defender was quick to point out after the match the threat he felt his side had from set pieces throughout the match.

“We had one opportunity in the first half and it was the only chance we had,” said Bolger.

“I said before the game that we could get something from a set-piece and in the second half we put a little more pressure on them – two or three cleared off the line but thankfully one went in!

“I thought we played well and were quite comfortable out there to be honest. We were confident going into the game that we could get something from it.

The win also ensured that Fleetwood closed the gap with the top three, whilst extended their advantage over fifth placed Bradford City to six points.

“The run keeps going,” said the former Leicester City defender, who played alongside Dons manager Robbie Nielson with the Foxes.

“It’s another important one because it was the only one in the game. I think other teams around us dropped points so it makes it that more important.

“We’ve got to keep concentrating on ourselves and keep pushing on.”
