Keeper on first ever trip to Bolton

Chris Neal believes Fleetwood won’t fear any team, despite slipping to defeat against Bolton Wanderers at Macron Stadium on Saturday.

The goalkeeper watched on as his side led 1-0 at the break after David Ball’s opener, before conceding two second half goals as Town slipped to their first league defeat of the season.

he said. There is no point fearing anyone, there’s no point to,”

“The manager has instilled that in us and all the coaching staff so we can come away to the bigger sides in this league like Bolton, like Charlton and not fear anything.

“We aren’t going to hide behind anything and if we can get some points then all the better.”

Neal pulled off a stunning double save in the second period at Macron Stadium from Kaiyne Woolery and Liam Trotter but was unable to prevent Josh Vela scoring the winning goal six minutes from time.

“It is disappointing to not come away with any points, we should have come away with at least one point.

“We came to a Bolton team that were flying for the first three games and we came here with nothing to fear, and I think that showed generally.

The 30-year-old admitted that all of the goals were quite similar and that the side will have to focus on second balls in training this week.

“The second balls in this league are the ones to concentrate on,”said the experienced stopper.

“Unfortunately we didn’t do that today.

“We will go and work on that on the training ground next week and the rest of the season.”
