Striker signs new three-year deal at Highbury

Fleetwood Town are delighted to announce Ash Hunter has signed a new three-year deal with the club.

The striker, who has already fired two goals this season, has developed into one of the hottest properties in League One since joining from Ilkeston in January 2015.

Hunter's contract at Highbury was due to run-out at the end of the season, but he's now put pen-to-paper on a deal which will see him remain at the club until 2019.

On the news, the 20-year-old, said: "I'm delighted to commit my future to Fleetwood Town, I'm really excited about the next three years.

"I am happy with the way my career is being developed here and I'm hoping to really kick-on now and score some goals.

"I'm really happy here under the new manager, he's already really helped with my confidence and I'm looking forward to repaying his and the club's faith in me."

Hunter was on target in last night's 2-0 win against Oxford United, and Head Coach Uwe Rosler said the long-term signing of the striker is a real boost.

He said: "It's fantastic. When I first arrived at the club I looked at the quality we have in attack and it was easy to see the quality Ash has.

"Ash is a big part of the way we want to play in the future and I'm delighted he's signed a three-year contact."
