CHELTENHAM TOWN

Darell Clarke’s team come into this game following a 0-0 draw away against Barnsley, which is a good result for the Robins. They currently sit 22nd in League One, on 35 points, with many fans saying this is a must-win match for Charlie Adam and the team if they are to survive relegation this year.

However, Cheltenham have failed to get a win in their last seven games, with their last win coming against Port Vale back in February. The Robins have picked up some good wins this season, however, with wins against the likes of Blackpool & Portsmouth since the new year.

Their last away game came on the 10th February where they beat Cambridge at the Abbey Stadium 1-0, with Matty Taylor bagging the only goal of the game.

LAST MEETING

The Cods’ last meeting against The Robins came back in October 2023, where current Cheltenham boss Darell Clarke managed his first game.

A 19th-minute free kick from Junior Quirtirna and an 80th-minute strike from Jack Marriot secured a 2-0 victory away from home.

OTHER GAMES IN THE PAST

Both teams have had some great games in the past, but the most infamous one came back in the 2021/22 season where Town came out victorious 3-2.

Harry Wright opened the scoring for The Robins in the 8th minute but goals from Tom Clarke and Darnell Johnson seemed to cancel out the goal but an Alfie May goal in the 87th minute equalised the game for Cheltenham. But, in the 90th minute of the game, Shayden Morris bagged the winner with a placed

shot into the bottom corner, securing a Cod Army win.

This Friday’s game sees our number 11 Ryan Broom face his former team, where he made over 100 league appearances in his two stints for the Robins. Also, Josh Harrop could make his return to HIghbury, as he spent a time on loan back in 2022.
